A picture of Donald Trump with financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has resurfaced after JD Vance brought Epstein up during an interview with Fox News.
While speaking about Vice President Kamala Harris' economic platform, Vance said, "Giving Kamala Harris control over inflation policy, it's like giving Jeffrey Epstein control over human trafficking policy. The American people are much smarter than that, they don't buy the idea that Kamala Harris represents a fresh start, she is more of the same."
Since the interview, a picture of Trump and his wife Melania alongside Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell has resurfaced on X, formerly Twitter. It follows a report alleging that Trump's campaign has been using a private jet once owned by Epstein for recent travel.
A post of the photo, along with a clip from Vance's interview where he mentions Epstein, has received 831,000 views and 28,000 likes.
Another post with a collage of photos of Trump and Epstein over the years has 77,800 views.
Epstein was imprisoned in 2008 after he was charged with procuring a child for prostitution and sex trafficking in Florida and New York. He died by suicide at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York in 2019 while awaiting trial relating to federal charges for the sex trafficking of minors.
In 2021, Maxwell was found guilty of crimes related to Epstein and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Trump told New York Magazine in 2002, "I've known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it – Jeffrey enjoys his social life."
The two were pictured partying together throughout the 1990s until the early 2000s, when they reportedly had a falling out after they became involved in a bidding war over a property in Palm Beach in 2004, which Trump won for $41 million.
Trump has repeatedly denied any knowledge of Epstein's crimes.
In 2019, Trump confirmed his previous friendship with Epstein to the press and said, "I had a falling out with him. I haven't spoken to him in 15 years. I was not a fan of his, that I can tell you."
Newsweek reached out to Trump's campaign and JD Vance for comment via email.
